Every active or paused membership a customer holds is listed in the Memberships card on their customer page, each row showing its credits, price, and the items currently out on it. Past memberships sit behind their own row. Select a membership to open its page. Open a customer from Customers to see them.

Select a membership, then More actions on its billing card.

Start a membership

Customers join from your storefront: from a page with the Membership plans app block, or by selecting Become a member on a product page. Once they complete checkout they receive their credits and can rent eligible products. Your team can also put a customer on a plan. The plan is paid for as the order is placed and the membership is created with its credits ready once the order is paid, so you can add items to it on the same order or a later one. A customer with no card on file can still be put on a plan. Their charges are raised as normal, and you collect them yourself until a card is added.
1

Open Add cycles

On the draft order, select More actions > Add cycles.
2

Select Membership

Select Membership, then New membership plan.
3

Pick the plan and billing option

Select the plan and, when it offers more than one, its billing option. The plan is added as its own line, so it can be the only thing on the order.
1

Attach the customer to the cart

Membership stays grayed out until the cart has a customer.
2

Open Cycles

Tap Cycles, then Membership and New membership plan.
3

Pick the plan and take payment

Tap the plan and its billing option, then check out as usual. See POS overview for the full flow.
After enrollment, customers manage their membership in customer accounts. When a customer holds more than one membership, they choose which membership pays on the product page.

Memberships on the customer page

The customer page shows one card per active or paused membership. Each card shows:
  • The membership name, or Membership when no custom name is set
  • The plan title and status
  • Credits, order and return usage, and the next renewal date
Select the view icon on a card to open that membership’s page. When a customer has ended memberships, a Past memberships section below the cards lists each one with its name, plan title, start date, and status. Select the name to open it.

The membership page

Open a membership from its card on the customer page, or from Charges by selecting View membership on a membership billing charge. The page has four cards:
  • Plan. The plan title and membership name.
  • Allowances. Credits, orders, returns, and the renewal period. Select the edit icon to change the allowances or the renewal schedule.
  • Billing. Next charge, recurring price, start and end dates, minimum term dates when they apply, payment method, and related charges.
  • Customer. Name and contact details.
Use More actions on the Billing card to Activate membership, Pause membership, or Cancel membership. These actions apply to the membership you opened, not to every membership the customer holds.

Rename a membership

1

Edit the Plan card

On the membership page, select the edit icon on the Plan card.
2

Enter a name and save

Enter a Membership name, then select Save. The name appears on the customer page card, in the membership page title, and on the product page when the customer picks a membership. The plan title stays the plan product’s title.
Customers can also rename a membership from customer accounts. Names set in the admin and names set by the customer stay in sync.
