Turn on membership for a product, set its credit cost, and validate membership items in the cart
Membership plans are created at the store level, so a product isn’t rentable with credits until you turn on its Membership method. Do that from Products for each product members can rent, then set the credit cost of its options if you use the credits system.
With the credits system, each membership option has a credit cost that decides how many credits the product uses. A product starts with one option that costs 1 credit and applies to every variant. To charge variants different amounts, add an option per group of variants and turn on Apply to specific variants on each. For example, a dress that costs 2 credits leaves a member on a 5-credit plan with 3 credits for other products.
1
Open the Membership method
On Products, open the product. In the Methods card, select Membership.
2
Set the credit cost
Under Options, select an option, set Credit cost to a whole number, then select Apply.
Open the option, change Credit cost, select Apply, then Save.
3
Save
Select Save in the save bar. Credit costs only apply while the credits system is selected in your membership settings.
To offer a different plan or price in another Shopify market, open a membership option and turn on Apply to specific markets. See Multi-market pricing.
When a logged-in customer holds more than one membership, the Methods app block shows one membership option per membership. Each option uses the membership name as its title, with the plan title and remaining credits underneath, for example Everyday · 6 of 10 credits left. The customer selects which membership pays for the rental. By default Supercycle selects the newest membership with enough credits for the chosen option. If the customer changes option or adds other membership rentals to the cart, Supercycle moves the selection to a membership that can cover the cost when one can.Memberships that are paused or short of credits for the selected option stay visible but can’t be selected. A paused membership shows Paused in place of its remaining credits. The credit bar on each option counts only credits used from that membership, so items in the cart that draw from another membership don’t reduce it.A customer with one membership sees a single membership option and no extra choice.
