Turn on subscription rental for a product and create the pricing groups customers pick from
Subscription rental is turned on per product. Once a product is imported into Supercycle, open its Subscription method from Products, turn the method on, and add at least one pricing group so customers have a minimum term and price to pick.
A pricing group is a recurring price and a checkout price for a given minimum term, applied to some or all of the product’s variants. A product can have several, for example a lower monthly price for a longer commitment.
1
Open the Subscription method
On Products, open the product. In the Methods card, select Subscription.
2
Add a pricing group
Under Options, select Add option.
Select Add option, fill in the pricing group, select Add, then Save.
3
Fill in the pricing group
Fill in the fields and select Add at the foot of the modal:
Name. Shown on the selector on the product page and in the line item properties in the cart and at checkout.
Checkout price. The initial charge, taken at checkout and often used as a joining or administration fee. An initial charge is required.
Recurring price and Billing interval. The amount charged on each interval from the rental start. The interval defaults to your subscription settings.
Minimum term. The customer’s commitment, counted from the rental start, which is usually the fulfillment time. Once it’s up the customer can start a return, and in the admin it’s advisory, so you can end a rental earlier.
Deposit. A deposit to add to the cart with the subscription. Supercycle links the deposit and the subscription for the life of the rental.
Apply to specific variants. Limit the group to some variants, for example different storage sizes or conditions.
Apply to specific markets. Limit the group to some Shopify markets, for example to charge different amounts in different currencies. See Multi-market pricing.
