Languages control which languages Supercycle’s app blocks, customer accounts pages, and emails appear in, and the wording they use. Shopify handles your storefront and theme content, and Supercycle handles its own blocks and features, so a language has to be set up in both. Manage Supercycle’s languages under Languages.

Every published language has an Edit content link for its wording.

How it works

Languages in Shopify control two things: the storefront language your customers see, such as English or Italian, and the wording used for buttons, labels, and messages across your store. Supercycle keeps its own list for the same two things on its blocks, customer accounts pages, and emails.
  • Adding a language in Shopify makes it available for your storefront and theme content.
  • Adding a language in Supercycle makes it available for Supercycle’s blocks and features.
For a customer to see Supercycle content in a second language, that language has to be active in both Shopify and Supercycle. When your store has more than one published language, Shopify shows a language selector in the storefront header. Supercycle follows the customer’s choice and shows its content in that language if you’ve added it to Supercycle. You can also assign a language to a specific market in Shopify.

Add a language

1

Add the language in Shopify

Under Languages in the Shopify admin, select Add language and choose the language. Follow Shopify’s guide to managing languages to publish it to your storefront.
2

Add the language in Supercycle

On Languages in Supercycle, select Add language, choose the language, and select Add. Select Save in the save bar.

Select Add language, pick the language, then Save.

Once the language is active in both places, customers browsing the translated storefront see Supercycle content in that language.

Edit wording

Both Shopify and Supercycle let you edit wording. In Shopify, changes apply to your theme and general site content. In Supercycle, changes apply to Supercycle’s blocks, customer accounts pages, and emails.
1

Open the language's content

On Languages, select Edit content next to the language you want to update.
2

Change the text and save

Pick a group on the left, change the text in the fields, and select Save in the save bar.

Retype a field, then Save.

Wording groups

A few groups cover more than one surface:
  • Requirements. Copy for ID verification and e-signature contracts across the checkout Checkout requirements block, the customer accounts Requirements page, and the pages at /identity_verification and /contracts. One edit updates every surface.
  • Item condition picker. Under Components, when item conditions are shown on the storefront. It holds the picker’s Label, Condition by default, and Placeholder, Select condition by default. The condition names come from your item conditions settings, not from here.
  • Terms. Under Methods, when terms and conditions are turned on. It holds the product-page acceptance strings: the section heading, Accept terms by default, the per-row label I accept the {{ terms }}, where {{ terms }} is replaced with the linked policy title, and the error shown when add to cart is blocked, Please accept the terms and conditions by default.
