Learn how you and your customers can initiate a rental return
Rental returns can be initiated by the customer in their rental portal or by your team in Shopify Admin.
Customer initiated returns
A customer can initiate a return from their rental portal.
Create return
In the rental portal, the customer should click Return items. This button may have different text depending on your language settings.
Add items
On the next page, the customer can select the items they’d like to return.
Add items
If you have automatic return approval unselected, you’ll need to approve the newly created return from your Shopify Admin.
Merchant initiated returns
You can create a return on behalf of a customer, either proactively or if you receive items back where the customer has not created the return.
You should do this because rentals can’t be completed and items restocked without completing a return.
Navigate to customer
In Shopify Admin, head to Supercycle > Customers > Customer.
Create new return
On the customer page, under Active rentals click the Create return button.
Add items
Add any items from the list of the customers’ active rentals and click Create return.
Approve return
To continue, add a shipping label (if required) and click Approve return.
Continue to process the customer’s return as normal.
