Before you start

The new customer portal is in early release and has some limitations compared to the legacy version. These updates will be coming in the next few weeks.

Supercycle doesn’t currently support Shopify self-returns, so if you have it enabled and a return is made via Shopify returns, it won’t be marked as returned in Supercycle.

The customer portal allows customers to manage their rentals directly from the Shopify account page.

Features include:

  • View rental details
  • Create and view returns for a rental
  • Change payment method for subscriptions
  • Change payment method on a membership
  • Pause membership
  • Cancel membership

Coming soon:

  • Create rentals (Ship back, collection, drop off)

Roadmap:

  • Pay for outstanding charges
  • Extend rentals
  • Purchase rental item

You are able to change this to suit your store. For example, you could change it to /tools/membership/ or /tools/rental/.

You can also change the sub-path prefix by toggling between a set of values provided by Shopify (/apps,/a,/community, or /tools).

To change your URL follow these steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.
  2. Click on Supercycle
  3. Under App Proxy, click Customize URL.
  4. Select the prefix with the drop-down, change the URL, and click Save.
  5. To update the app with the new URL go to the new URL in your browser.
  6. Update any links in your Shopify navigation to the Customer portal and Membership plans pages.
