The Operators MCP authenticates with OAuth. Your MCP server URL is under Integrations, and you sign in with your Shopify account when you connect. On the consent screen you select Full access or Read only. See OAuth access levels. Pick your client below.
ChatGPT connects to MCP servers through its Connectors feature.

Open Connectors

In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Connectors, then select Add custom connector.

Add the server

Enter Supercycle Operators MCP in Name, and your MCP server URL from Integrations in URL.

Authenticate

ChatGPT redirects you to sign in with your Shopify account. On the consent screen, select Full access or Read only, then approve. This authorizes ChatGPT to reach your Supercycle data.

Use it in a chat

In a new chat, select the attachments button (the plus icon), then the Supercycle Operators MCP connector. ChatGPT can then query your Supercycle data.
Claude connects to MCP servers through its Connectors feature.

Open Connectors

Go to the Connectors page in your Claude settings.

Add the server

Select Add custom connector. Enter Supercycle Operators MCP in Name, and your MCP server URL from Integrations in URL.

Claude redirects you to sign in with your Shopify account. On the consent screen, select Full access or Read only, then approve. This authorizes Claude to reach your Supercycle data.

Use it in a chat

Select the attachments button (the plus icon), then the Supercycle Operators MCP connector. Claude can then query your Supercycle data.

Any MCP-compatible client can connect with your MCP server URL from Integrations. You sign in with your Shopify account when you connect and select an access level on the consent screen.

Pair it with the Shopify AI toolkit

For wider access to your Shopify store, pair the Operators MCP with the Shopify AI toolkit. With both connected, your AI assistant sees your Supercycle circular operations and native Shopify resources such as products, orders, and store policies in one chat. The Shopify AI toolkit is installed separately in your AI client. See Shopify’s installation guide for the plugin, agent skills, or Dev MCP options. With both connected, you can ask cross-store questions:
  • “Compare this month’s rental cycles in Supercycle to my Shopify product sell-through.”
  • “Which Shopify products are tied to overdue returns in Supercycle?”

Operators MCP troubleshooting

Why it happens. The connection was authorized as Read only, so write tools return Insufficient scope: this tool requires write access, but this connection was authorized as read only. Reconnect and choose full access to use it.How to fix it. Disconnect and reconnect your AI client, then select Full access on the consent screen. See OAuth access levels.
Why it happens. The email address on your AI client account doesn’t match a staff email on your Shopify store, so the sign-in shows Oops, something went wrong. Unauthorized Access.How to fix it. Either update your email in your Shopify account settings to match the AI client, or sign in to the AI client with the email your Shopify account uses.
